This page is dedicated to all of the animals that have touched our lives, and then passed, but most of all it is in memory
of one of the greatest horses a person could ever meet. Jim was 23 when we got him. He had been a roping horse for most of
his life, and had been retired when he was no longer needed by his old owner. When we got Jim, he was very underweight, and
in need of some TLC.
Jim taught us the meaning of "hard keeper"
He touched the lives of so many people, and was always the first horse people wanted to ride when they came over. We
could trust him with anyone on his back. From the smallest of kids, to old ladies, Jim carried them all with pride.
Jim would plod along all day with a kid on his back, but despite his age, Jim still had plenty go left in him.
I remember one time when I took him to the arena, there was a girl there working with her little Mustang barrel pony.
She thought it would be funny to challenge me and Jim to a race. The look on her face when that old gelding beat her
and her little Mustang was priceless, and it still puts a smile on my face to this very day.
Jim is sorely missed, and will always hold a place in the hearts of the people whos lives he touched.
